Mr. Falls is the founding partner of Law Offices of J. Scott Falls, LLC. A native South Carolinian, Mr. Falls grew up in Clover, South Carolina, a small suburb of Rock Hill and Charlotte. He attended York County Public Schools and was very involved in the community at a young age. At the age of 17, Mr. Falls earned his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America for his service to the community. From 2007-2009, Mr. Falls worked for a small law firm in Charleston, South Carolina performing a broad range of civil litigation.
Desiring to start his own practice, in December 2009 Mr. Falls opened Law Offices of J. Scott Falls, LLC. Largely due to the recession at the time, the firm experienced a surging request for employment related representation, primarily from the employee side. Not long thereafter, Mr. Falls decided to narrow the focus of his firm to plaintiff’s employment representation exclusively. Mr. Falls has been litigating employment disputes in federal and state courts since this time. In order to stay current with changing employment laws and trends, he attends conferences every year that discuss evolutions in this field of law. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Labor & Employment Law Division and the National Employment Lawyers Association (“NELA”). He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Division.
Mr. Falls’ chief legal interests include research and writing, electronic discovery, and technology issues. He has also served as an expert witness in the field of South Carolina at-will employment in the Canadian court system. He represents employees of all types ranging from chief executive officers of Fortune 500 companies to hourly factory workers. Mr. Falls has also served as co-counsel with other local attorneys to assist with complex employment related cases.
Mr. Falls and his wife, a fellow attorney, reside on James Island and are members of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in downtown Charleston. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and had the opportunity to live in Linz, Austria for a summer during law school while studying international commercial arbitration. Mr. Falls is licensed to practice law in all South Carolina state courts, the District of South Carolina, and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
